No Reverse took me by surprise. I had seen a review for the book on a friend's blog and thought it sounded good, so I bought it. I didn't really know what to expect. What I found was a story that I became so completely involved in, that I ended up devouring it in one sitting.

Cassie and Josh fell in love in high school. Their senior year, Cassie got pregnant and they decided to get married. The events that happened after the wedding, spurred a chain of lies and heart ache. See...Josh was the golden boy. He was smart, athletic and was destined for more than what Steep Hill had to offer. But, Josh felt like he could have all his dreams and more, as long as he was with Cassie. He was willing to make it work and he was madly in love with Cassie. However, Josh's dad wasn't going to stand for Cassie 'ruining' his son's life. So, he convinced Cassie to give up their baby for adoption and let Josh go. Cassie never wanted to hold Josh back, so she took the deal. She truly felt like she was making the right choice, even though it killed her.

The web of lies began to spin. She left town to finish out her pregnancy and give the baby up for adoption, but that wasn't exactly what she told Josh. She broke his heart by lying to him about what was really going on. She felt like she needed to in order for him to leave. Well, it worked. He left and never came back. So now, Cassie is dealing with new heart break. Her grandmother passed away, but she also finds out some devastating news about her baby that she had given up for adoption. She knows that it's time to come clean about what happened in the past, so she goes to Josh.

Josh is living in London. He's engaged to a girl he met in college. He's happy and looking forward to his future. When Cassie shows up, he really doesn't know what to do. Then, she tells him the truth about their past and it changes everything. He's conflicted, because he's never stopped loving Cassie, but he also loves his fiancee. But, Cassie and Josh's bond was just too strong to walk away from. Honestly, I was really nervous about how things were going to go. I have to say that Cassie didn't go find him to win him back, she went to him because she really did need his help. It's just that neither one of them ever let go of their feelings for each other, so it was natural for them to just be together.

I know it may seem like a lot is going on, but the story is told in the present with flashbacks to the past. So, the reader sees what's happening now, but we also get a clear picture of how things unraveled. As the story comes to a close, I felt like it could go either way, but I was really happy with how the story ended. I also think that Josh and Cassie have a long road ahead.

Overall, I really enjoyed No Reverse. So much, that I was bummed the second book wasn't available at the time I finished this one. There's just something about second chance love stories that get to me. Then, adding a baby into the mix...I was done for. This is a feels book. My emotions were all over the place and I take that a good sign. I'm really looking forward to reading Fast Forward soon, so I can see where their journey takes them!

Warning This book is very emotional, at times gut-wrenching, and a real tear jerker. There is nothing light about the story. Had I known how heart-breaking it was, I’m not sure I would have chosen it. I certainly wouldn’t have started it as late into the evening as I did. I kept reading and reading, waiting for their happy ending so I could go to sleep peacefully. Alas, it did not come! After everything the story puts the characters and the readers through….there is a CLIFFHANGER ending! Very unsatisfying, especially with this type of heavy story.

The characters are an emotional roller-coaster. You feel bad for them, and yet they frustrate you all at once. You want them to get together, but they’ve made and keep making mistakes. However, I absolutely HATED Josh’s fiancé. Definitely won’t read her book. She’s made out to be an uptight martyr. (*Spoiler I thought she’d be gone and I wanted her gone when she walked in on Cassie and Josh. Why oh why he went back to her??? I was almost done at that point.) Everyone in the story needed to grow a backbone. I realize a lot of Cassie and Josh’s mistakes were made when they were young and immature, but they still make a lot of wishy-washy decision in the present too.

2.5 stars. I would have given it 3 stars if there would have been a complete HEA ending. I can’t imagine the turmoil the sequel is going to put the characters through. Overall If you like angst and sadness, then this book is for you. But if you are looking for a feel-good love story, this is not the one.

I fell in love with the characters...Josh and Cassie!

Cassie is by far the most selfless person in the universe. She deserves so much and always looks out for the best interest in others rather than herself.

This is the story of how Josh and Cassie who fell in love in high school, who had their lives ahead of them only to be turned upside down instead. Cassie wanted Josh to live his life and not be tied down, so she did what she thought was best for him.

Unfortunately Cassie's decision was not the choice Josh would have made, he did not have a choice in the matter. After splitting up and going separate ways, Josh has moved on. There is only one small thing in his way to marrying his fiance, he has to divorce his first wife, Cassie first.

Sadly Cassie gets the new of divorce papers on the worst day possible along with another letter that is life changing. Now before Cassie can give Josh what he wants, she needs his help first.

Cassie sets out to talk to Josh and have him help her, unfortuantely things do not go the way she planned. His anger towards her is still there and they get off to a rocky start.

These two share a love people only dream about. But do they have enough love for each other to reunite their family or will they go their separate ways and continue to do what is best for everyone else rather than themselves?

I absolutely loved this book and am definitely looking forward to all the books in this series!!!
